It would be hard to overstate Jocelyn Woods’ involvement in — and enthusiasm for — the programs offered by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley, which provide after-school homework support, education, sports and fun to low-income kids.

At the Smythe Clubhouse facility in East San Jose, a colorfully painted building she’s been visiting since she was 6, Jocelyn has learned software programs like Adobe Photoshop and helped teach them to other kids. Solar energy becoming advanced battery technology

A lithium-ion battery manufacturer, EnerDel, announced this week that it will begin producing utility-scale battery technology to speed the uptake of solar energy and other renewables.

EnerDel, part of Indianapolis- based Ener1, makes lithium-ion batteries for hybrid and pure electric cars.
