dell-inspiron-6400-battery

Today, I made such a topic about that notebook computer users in the use, maintenance, and repairment could sum up some experiences to exchange for better management of their laptop batteries .

  1. the regular production of laptop battery manufacturers a variety of parameters clearly marked.
  2. buy laptop battery, the best choice nickel-metal hydride batteries or lithium-ion battery.
  3. genuine batteries commonly used PC or PVC shell material is very strong, difficult to damage, the general means can not open the laptop battery.
  4. neat appearance, there is no extra burr, a certain degree of roughness of the outer surface, and feel comfortable.
  5. notebook battery into the battery slot should be around freely, and closely integrated with the machine, while attention to the battery nominal voltage and voltage to correspond to your notebook.
  6. to ensure that purchase of the laptop battery charge and discharge of its good performance.
  7. under normal circumstances the thinner laptop battery, capacity, the smaller the thicker the laptop battery capacity is also greater.
  8. choose the laptop batteries and adapters necessary to ask the dealer asked in detail about the characteristics of batteries and adapters.

If you want to extend notebook battery life, we must also carry out proper maintenance of batteries and maintenance, the following is Ikunori maintenance and maintenance of notes:

  1. to avoid laptop battery at a temperature higher than 60 ℃ or lower than -20 ℃ environment, otherwise the use of time and life will be shortened. Laptop battery charging basic method, because laptop battery characteristics vary, so it must be in accordance with manufacturers instructions manual method of charging.
  2. if not a long time the machine is best to remove the laptop battery because the case does not boot, will be a gradual loss of laptop battery power
  3. due to a general non-rechargeable batteries, lithium batteries, such as the forced charging will cause an explosion.
  4. do not laptop batteries and some metal products together to prevent such metal objects touch the battery polarity, short circuit caused by the phenomenon.
  5. laptop battery when not in use, if temporarily, you can temporarily release some of them power, but then save it.
  6. due to its chemical properties of lithium-ion battery is extremely active in response to intense, so we should not arbitrarily to its demolition. If rain, moisture, dry cloth can be dry, put in dry and ventilated place on their own or with hot air drying of about 40 degrees.

launch safer laptop battery

The Sonata battery–which the company is set to show off at the Demo ‘07 show taking place this week in Palm Desert, Calif.–is safer than conventional laptop batteries, but is electrically and mechanically compatible to current notebook designs, according to the company. Notebook makers can thus drop it into their existing models, said CEO Christina Lampe-Onnerud, who added that Hewlett-Packard has been testing it for 18 months.

As a bonus, the Sonata battery can be charged to 80 percent capacity in about 30 minutes. Conventional notebook batteries take one to two hours to get to 90 percent capacity.

“We picked 30 minutes and drove development to that,” Lampe-Onnerud said.

The company is part of a wave of battery start-ups that have emerged in the past few years. Most got started initially to improve the runtime on notebooks or power tools. A raft of explosions and recalls, however, have also pushed safety to the forefront.

The popularity of hybrid and electric cars has also juiced the market. Last week, A123 Systems, which makes lithium ion batteries(gd761,kd476) for plug-in hybrid cars, announced it had raised $40 million more in venture capital funds.

Boston-Power has been one of the more noteworthy new entrants in part because the somewhat secretive company, which came out of semi-stealth mode late last year, employs many scientists and executives, like Lampe-Onnerud, who have worked in the battery industry for years. Along with showing off the battery publicly for the first time this week, Boston-Power also announced it closed a second round of funding for $15.6 million.

There is no magic silver bullet inside the Sonata, Lampe-Onnerud said. Instead, the battery differs from conventional notebook batteries through a large number of design tweaks.

“We understand the system. We don’t have a killer chemical,” she said.

The can, or outside casing around the battery cells, inspiron b120 battery, inspiron b130 battery, is made from a metal alloy that is stronger than the iron cans used with notebook batteries and thus will remain intact, in the case of a thermal reaction, or fire, according to the company.

Boston-Power also spent a lot of time on the interrupt system, which prompts the battery to shut down permanently if there is danger of a reaction. (Replacements are covered by a three-year warranty, which Lampe-Onnerud says is longer than the industry average.) The company can’t guarantee the batteries will never have problems, but it has added safety features not seen in ordinary batteries.

“If it is really damaged, I don’t want it to work again,” she said.

At the same time, the battery generally meets the performance characteristics of conventional batteries(latitude d600 battery) on the market today.

HP is likely the first customer, according to Lampe-Onnerud. A contract to put the battery inside a notebook has yet to be signed, but it’s possible a notebook with a Boston-Power battery could hit the market by summer, she said. John Wozniak, an HP distinguished technologist, will appear with Lampe-Onnerud during the Demo presentation.

An HP representative said the company has been testing the batteries and is pleased with the results, pavilion dv6000 battery is better ,but added that further testing will occur. A notebook containing the batteries potentially could come out this year, the representative added, but nothing has been signed and, again, further testing will occur.

Typically, large manufacturers move slowly and conservatively when adopting new components, and then introduce them on a limited basis.

The Sonata will sell for a premium, but Lampe-Onnerud would not disclose details on pricing.

The big challenge facing Boston-Power now is whether it can move into high-volume manufacturing. The company already has an alliance with a large Chinese contract manufacturer.

While Lampe-Onnerud was somewhat tight-lipped about how Boston-Power’s product differs from conventional batteries, a patent search indicates that one change will involve altering the chemistry of the cathode. Currently, cathodes are made from lithium cobalt compounds. The July 2005 patent, suggests swapping that out for lithium nickel materials.latitude d830 battery, latitude d500 battery.

More information can be found under a second patent from February 2005. Although a company’s patents can lead to future products, there is no guarantee that a correlation exists, and Boston-Power has several pending, unpublished patents.

In the midst of a global recession, businesses struggle to find the value in buying powerful new computers. It is a situation that continues to prove torturous for Dell and seems to have paralyzed parts of the company’s turnaround efforts.

Dell, based in Round Rock, Tex., depends on selling computers to businesses and government bodies more than any of the other major computer makers. About three-quarters of its products go to such customers and dell laptop battery, while consumers make up the remainder. As businesses appear to be recovering more slowly than consumers, Dell is looking quite far ahead to find signs of optimism in the PC industry.

“We are preparing for what we believe will be a powerful replacement cycle,” said Michael S. Dell, the company’s founder and chief executive, during a conference call on Thursday to discuss the company’s first-quarter results. Mr. Dell expects sales to pick up in 2010, when customers may buy new computers to run Microsoft’s next operating system, Windows 7.

For now, Dell continues to struggle. In its first quarter, ended May 1, net income fell 63 percent, to $290 million, or 15 cents a share, from $784 million, or 38 cents a share, in the same period last year. Excluding restructuring and real estate charges, Dell earned 24 cents a share, beating analysts’ estimates by a penny.

The company, however, missed the analysts’ forecast on revenue. It fell 23 percent, to $12.34 billion, from $16.08 billion last year.

Revenue in all of Dell’s major businesses tumbled, including a 34 percent fall in desktop PC sales and a 20 percent drop in notebook PC sales(dell inspiron b120 battery ,inspiron b130 battery).

Dell has spent years trying to lessen its dependence on PCs by shifting its product mix toward data center equipment like server computers and storage systems. It has also tried to bolster its services segments and expand its consumer business. The company has long talked about making acquisitions, but it has sat on the sidelines during the recession and declined to make a major move.

Mr. Dell said the time to strike might be close. “Asset prices are getting pretty attractive,” he said on the conference call. “Certainly, we are looking at how we will expand inorganically. HD438 ,KD186 Battery

Analysts contend that Dell’s options may dwindle if the company fails to act soon. Oracle, for example, has snatched up Dell’s long-time rival Sun Microsystems, and Hewlett-Packard bought the services giant Electronic Data Systems last year.

“Their targets are limited,” said Ashok Kumar, an analyst with Collins Stewart. “Eventually, Dell will have to step up their services profile, and the candidates are few and far between.” Dell had $9.7 billion in cash at the end of its first quarter.

But it has less buying power with its stock. Dell’s shares hit a 52-week high of $25.63 in August and have since dipped as low as $8. Shares of Dell closed up more than 3 percent on Thursday, at $11.48. After the release of the first-quarter results, Dell’s shares rose above $11.60 in after-hours trading.

While talking to financial analysts, Mr. Dell pointed repeatedly to the company’s recent cost-cutting measures. He stressed that Dell had focused on increasing its profits during the recession.

Dell’s operating expenses declined $312 million year over year. In addition, it produced $761 million in cash during the quarter.

The company acknowledges that its cost structure grew bloated in recent years, putting Dell at a disadvantage to Hewlett and Acer of Taiwan. Acer’s low costs have proved particularly beneficial during the downturn as its lower prices have helped it gain market share(acer aspire 3000 battery). According to technology analysts at Gartner, Acer is now tied with Dell as the second-largest PC maker in the world, trailing Hewlett.

Even if PC sales pick up in 2010 as Mr. Dell expects, the company could continue to find itself in a difficult position. “Dell cannot afford to go up against Acer’s low cost structure in the consumer market,” Mr. Kumar said. “And, on the corporate side, they have their work cut out for them as well because H.P is more of a one-stop shop for equipment.”
